Come On Over
Out of the Mist Celtic Theatre was proud to present the area premier of Conor McPherson’s one-act play, Come On Over. First produced at Dublin’s Gate Theatre in 2001, Come On Over was described by the London Telegraph as, “piercingly evocative, powerfully exploring the tension between human and divine love.”
Struggling with his faith, a traumatized Jesuit priest returns to his hometown in Ireland to investigate the “miraculous” preservation of a 400-year-old child’s body, and re-engages with a woman he loved 30 years before. What follows is a poetic exploration of the nature of miracles and the eternal search for redemption. Michelle Schwantes directed Alisa Pritchett and Carney Gray in this thought-provoking production. The play was streamed at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2021 as part of the Minnesota Irish Fair’s annual “Irish Arts Week”, produced in partnership with the Celtic Junction Arts Center.
